Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

STEM Discovery Boxes is a woman-owned, family-run business based in Central Pennsylvania, USA. We sell hands-on science subscription boxes for kids ages 5 to 12+, purchased by parents, teachers, schools, and organizations. This policy explains what information we collect on this site, how we use it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

• Order information. When you subscribe or buy, checkout runs on Subbly, our commerce platform. Subbly collects your name, email, shipping address, and payment details to process the order. We never see or store your full payment card number.
• Form submissions. When you send a contact message, request a classroom or event quote, or join an email list, we receive the details you enter (name, email, school or organization, message).
• Usage data. Like most sites, we collect analytics data (pages visited, device type, approximate location from IP, referral source) through the tools listed below.

3. Cookies, analytics, and marketing tools

This site uses a small set of tools that may set cookies or similar identifiers:

• Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for site analytics and measuring what content helps visitors.
• Google Ads and Meta (Facebook/Instagram) tags to measure our advertising and, where enabled, show relevant ads. These run only when advertising campaigns are active.
• HubSpot for customer relationship management, so we can respond to inquiries and keep track of school and organization conversations.
• Subbly for checkout, subscription management, and order communication.

You can control cookies in your browser settings. Blocking cookies does not prevent you from browsing the site or checking out.

4. How we use your information

• To fulfill orders, manage subscriptions, and ship boxes.
• To answer messages and prepare quotes for schools, camps, and organizations.
• To send emails you asked for, like new-article or new-video updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link.
• To understand how the site is used and improve it.
• To measure advertising performance.

We do not sell your personal information.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that run the business: Subbly (checkout and subscriptions), shipping carriers (delivery), HubSpot (CRM and email), Google (analytics and ads), Meta (advertising measurement, when active), and our website host (form handling). Each provider processes data under its own privacy terms. We may also disclose information when required by law.

6. Children’s privacy

Our boxes are made for kids, but this site and our products are sold to adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, and no part of the site is directed at children for data collection. Any information about a child (like a shipping name for a gift) comes from the adult who provides it. If you believe a child has submitted personal information to us, email us and we will delete it.

7. Data retention

We keep order and correspondence records as long as needed to run the business and meet legal and tax requirements. Email-list entries are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).

8. Your choices and rights

• Email. Unsubscribe from any marketing email with one click, or ask us to remove you.
• Access and deletion. Email us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or to have it corrected or deleted.
• Cookies. Manage or block cookies in your browser. We honor applicable browser privacy signals where required by state law.
• State privacy rights. If your state’s privacy law grants you additional rights (access, deletion, correction, opt-out), email us and we will honor them.

9. Security

The site is served over HTTPS. Payments are handled by Subbly and its payment processors; card details never touch our servers. We limit access to customer information to the people who need it to fulfill your order or answer your message.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business or our tools change. The effective date above reflects the latest version.
